If you are a Class 12 science student from Assam dreaming of studying engineering, this is the most important notification you will read this year. The Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) has officially released the notification for the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 — the state-level entrance exam for B.Tech admission in engineering colleges across Assam.

Eligibility Criteria
Before you fill the form, make sure you meet all of these conditions. ASTU is strict about eligibility, and it will be verified again during counselling.
Citizenship & Domicile

- You must be an Indian citizen.

- You must be a permanent resident of Assam with a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC).

- Children of Central Government employees posted in Assam (for less than 20 years) can apply under the CGE quota.
Educational Qualification

- Must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognised board in a single sitting without grace marks.

- Mandatory subjects: Physics Chemistry Mathematics English

- Minimum aggregate marks: 45% in the above subjects (for General category).

- For OBC / MOBC / SC / ST(P) / ST(H): minimum 40% aggregate marks.

- Both Theory and Practical examinations must be individually passed.

- Diploma holders with 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology (minimum 45% / 40% for reserved) are also eligible.

- Candidates who have passed B.Sc. from a UGC-recognised university with at least 45% and had Mathematics in Class 12 can also apply.
Age Limit

- Minimum age: 17 years as on 31 December 2026.

- Maximum age: No upper age limit for CEE 2026.
Good news for appearing students: Candidates who are currently appearing in Class 12 exams can also apply for CEE 2026. You just need to meet the eligibility criteria at the time of counselling.
Application Fee
The application fee for Assam CEE 2026 is ₹1,350 for all candidates. Payment can be made online only — through Debit Card Credit Card Net Banking.
Once the fee is paid, it is non-refundable under any circumstances. Make sure you double-check all your details before making payment.
Exam Pattern – Assam CEE 2026
The exam is an offline pen-and-paper test. You will fill answers on an OMR sheet using a black ball point pen only. Here is the full breakdown:

- Negative Marking: –1 mark for every wrong answer. Do not guess blindly.

- Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) only.

- Medium: Both English and Assamese.

- Duration: 3 hours (11:00 AM to 2:00 PM).

- Rank: Generated based on total marks in all three subjects. In case of a tie, preference is given to Mathematics score, then Physics, then Chemistry, then date of birth.
Syllabus – What to Study
The CEE 2026 syllabus is based on the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) curriculum for Class 11 and 12. If you have studied your AHSEC or NCERT textbooks well, you are on the right track.
Mathematics
Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, Probability & Statistics, Sets & Functions, Matrices, Determinants, Vectors, 3D Geometry.
Physics
Mechanics, Laws of Motion, Work & Energy, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electricity & Magnetism, Waves, Modern Physics, Semiconductor Devices.
Chemistry
Physical Chemistry (Atomic Structure, Equilibrium, Electrochemistry), Organic Chemistry (Hydrocarbons, Functional Groups), Inorganic Chemistry (Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds).
How to Apply Online – Step by Step
The entire application process is online. Follow these steps carefully:

- 2Register Your AccountEnter your name, email address, and mobile number. Create a password — remember it, you’ll need it to download your admit card and check results later.

- 3Fill in All DetailsEnter your personal information, academic qualifications (Class 10 and 12 details), contact details, and exam centre preference.

- 4Upload Photo & SignaturePhoto: JPG/JPEG, 25–35 KB, size 250–350 px (height) × 150–220 px (width). Signature: JPG/JPEG, 15–30 KB, size 100–180 px (height) × 150–220 px (width). Use an image resizer tool if needed.

- 5Pay the Application FeePay ₹1,350 online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. Once paid, it cannot be refunded, so make sure everything is correct before this step.

- 6Submit & Save ConfirmationReview all details carefully, then submit. Take a printout or screenshot of the confirmation page for your records.
Tip: Keep the following ready before you start: Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, a recent passport-size photo (digital copy), your scanned signature, and your bank/UPI details for payment.

Admit Card
The CEE 2026 admit card will be available for download from 26 May 2026 to 4 June 2026 on the ASTU official website. You will need your application form number / username and password to log in and download it.
Your admit card will contain your exam centre address, roll number, exam date and time, and your photograph. Carry it to the exam hall along with a valid photo ID. Without the admit card, you will not be allowed to sit in the exam.
The admit card only allows you to appear in the exam. It does not confirm your eligibility for admission — that will be verified separately by DTE Assam during counselling.
Result & Counselling
After the exam, ASTU will publish the CEE 2026 result on the official website. The rank list will be prepared based on total marks. Once the result is out, the counselling process will be conducted separately by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam. ASTU does not handle counselling.
