Eligibility Criteria of BSNL Recruitment

1. Nationality

    • Must be on a regular full-time basis with a minimum of 60% marks.
    • Allowed Disciplines: Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a combination of these as core subjects with other associated emerging branches.
  • Finance Stream:
    • Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or have a qualification in Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA).
4. Health and Medical Standards
  • Successful candidates must pass the company’s Medical Examination according to standards set by the Government of India.
  • For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), the disability must be at least 40% as certified by a competent authority to qualify for reservation benefits.
5. Other Conditions
  • Employment Status: Candidates currently working in Government Departments, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies must provide a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) during document verification.
  • Marital Status: Individuals who have entered into a marriage with someone who already has a living spouse, or those who have a living spouse and marry again, are generally disqualified unless specifically exempted by the Appointing Authority.
  • Service Liability: Appointed candidates must be willing to be posted or transferred anywhere in India or any place within BSNL’s operational area.

The syllabus for the BSNL Senior Executive Trainee (Telecom) recruitment is divided into two parts: a common aptitude test and a technical core test focused on telecommunications.

Part-I: Aptitude Test (Common)

  3. Wireline Telecommunications Technologies (15% Weightage): Focuses on NGN and soft switches, broadband internet, FTTx technology, signaling in PSTN/SSTP, and Wi-Fi services/hotspot solutions.
  4. Telecom Transmission Infrastructure (15% Weightage): Covers transmission system fundamentals, optical fiber technology, and various optical fiber systems such as DWDM, OTN, FTTH, and GPON.
  5. IP/Data Networks (15% Weightage): Includes network elements, routing protocols, OSI and TCP/IP models, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, MPLS, IP network QoS, and cyber security/firewalls.
